Conferences are great ways to share insight amongst industry professionals, network and start discussions. Over the past few years, many of these have had to run online via skype, zoom and other video conferencing platforms. However, now that the world has opened up, many employers are in search of venues again, except now there are more challenges to consider – remote workers and a geographically diverse workforce. Since working from home took off, companies have hired both near and afar. For help organising, below are a few considerations that you will need to make when choosing the right venue for your work conference.

This post is in collaboration with a school that offers meeting rooms for Hire in Watford.
Catering
Refreshments are important to consider for conferences as they allow for attendees and speakers to have short breaks and stay focused at longer events. When it comes to food it’s good to consider allergies, intolerances, and other dietary restrictions to avoid exclusion. To ensure that you have all bases covered, look at vegan and non-vegan options. As vegans can’t consume animal products, the options will suit those who can’t consume dairy as well as those who follow a halal and kosher diet.
Capacity
You should also make sure that there is enough food and seating for everyone. A simple way to do this and minimise waste ahead of time is to send out RSVPs which can either be accepted or rejected.
Location
Going back to the problem outlined above, you can make sure that everyone has the ability to attend by choosing a more central location. However, this excludes your existing employees who may not be able and willing to travel a further distance. Another option is to have regional events or to cover employee travel expenses.
We hope this post was of help and wish you well with the rest of your planning.
